Hi there & welcome to Annie's Place. A place inspired by and named after my late Grandmother Annie. Somewhere I can be creative, and share my love for all things handmade. I like nothing better than sitting with hook & yarn, crafting something home spun & completely unique, or rustling up some yummy baked goodies. I live in a town with a beautiful embankment, situated on the River Great Ouse. You may know me as CosyKitty on Ravelry. Why not stop a while.....?!!

Castles and Crochet

I took a leisurely drive down to Windsor this past weekend. Unbeknownst to me the Royal Windsor Horse Show was taking place, therefore the Queen and a lot of the Royal Family were in residence at the Castle. There was a high police presence in and around the grounds, but not enough to disturb our enjoyment of this truly magical place.

The early evening light was perfect as we ambled through the Great Park. The views from the Long Walk are really breathtaking. All this beauty to be enjoyed for free! How fortunate are we to live in a country with such amazing history?!

After a hectic Saturday I decided Sunday would be a time for some much needed rest & relaxation. I parked myself on the sofa with a basket of assorted yarn and proceeded to work up some 3 round grannies. Which will become the other side to this cushion cover. The colours are yummy, and I'm having so much fun putting it all together. Ta-dah post to follow....

Till then, lots of love.....xxx

  6. Hi Sharron,

I think you and I live in the same town in Bedfordshire!

Like you I'm a self taught crocheter and I love your patterns and designs that you've shared. I can see you have really good tension in your crocheting - mine is a bit loose so I usually use a smaller hook than the pattern calls for. I'm busy making a hexagon blanket at the moment but am dying to try your Maisie flower in a square next.

  8. Oh my, I love your 'Candy Pop' colors! They're so soothing, sweet, and modern. Your posts are a little getaway/vacation for me, as I sit half a world away in Southern California. I do so love your blog - the crochet, the landscapes, the crochet... :) All the best!

  9. Having just spent many hours the last few days looking over your posts and admiring the beautiful colour combinations and quality of work - I have come up with a question.
....How do you so successfully change colours and sew in the ends? I haven't been able to distinguish the beginning and end of the rows in your granny's let alone where you hide the ends. Is there a secret or are you magical? :) I haven't come upon one of your posts that covers this, if there is could you point me in the right direction. Alternatively write about it please.

I was wondering what kind of camera you use to take your photos as they are beautiful. Also what programme do you use to display them on your blog?
