February 1st, can you believe it? It feels like I've barely come up for air this last few weeks. Lots on the horizon, but not a great deal to share with you here today.
However, there's still plenty of tea drinking, cake eating and crocheting going on. I'm making some slow, but steady progress on one of my many blanket WIPs. It's all been quite yummy!
The sun is out today hoorah, so I've been able to take advantage of some good light to snap a few pics of the wristies I crocheted up in super quick time. I used the lovely Catherine Wheel Stitch from Erika Knight's book Crochet Workshop, and some Hayfield Bonus DK acrylic yarn in a lovely powder blue colour. It's not the best yarn for the project, but was cheap enough for me to experiment with, so I'm happy with the outcome.
So in the words of Porky Pig
(which is what I'll end up like if I don't stop eating cake)
"That's All Folks"
Back soon

Tea, cake and now crochet three of my favourite things. I adore the colour of your new wristies and they are so pretty. Hope you're having a good weekend. Joanne x
ReplyDeleteThe wristies look good, I keep meaning to try that stitch. Your blanket is looking gorgeous too with very calming colours. Have you been watching the interior design challenge? I'm loving it at the moment; I never thought about how many skills are needed to renovate a room. I made a cowl using alpaca the other week and this yarn would look good for your wristie pattern. Enjoy February xxx
ReplyDeleteI did the same this morning, "it's sunny!!" *snap snap snap*. Winter is not very cooperative with us bloggers is it?
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd had tea and cake today, I never got round to buying milk :(
Pretty handwarmers, hopefully even though it's acrylic it's nice and soft :-)
I love your wristies and will have to look up the stitch. I do believe the big yellow thing in the sky is back tomorrow so a chance for more tea, cake and lots of photo opportunities. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely projects and the cake......yumo!

Those wrist warmers look fabulous - I haven't seen that stitch before, it is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely hand warmers! Did you crochet them in the round or flat and then seemed them together?
ReplyDeleteHi Charami, I'm so happy to hear you like them. They were crocheted flat in rows, and then seamed :)
DeleteLove the colors of your granny blanket :-)
ReplyDeletePrzecudne prace :) !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuper!
ReplyDeleteI love your blankets and choice of colors! Can you tell me what yarn you use mostly for you blankets?
ReplyDeleteHi Millie, I'm so glad to hear you like my projects! The majority have been crocheted using Schachenmayr Catania. I have also used Rico Creative Cotton, Stylecraft Special DK, Sublime Egyptian Cotton, SMC Extra Soft Merino Cotton, & Sublime Organic Cotton DK aswell. Most recently I have been using Rowan Purelife Organic Cotton on the blanket you see in progress in the above post. You can find out more on my Ravelry page http://www.ravelry.com/projects/cosykitty :)
DeleteGorgeous looking blanket and wristies, love that powder blue colour. Did you make the white throw in the background, if so what pattern did you use please? I've been admiring it in your banner for a while and would love to make one for my bedroom :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea,
DeleteThank you for your kind words. Sadly I cannot claim the white throw as my own creation. I found this beauty at a local antiques emporium near to where I live.
Those mitts are really lovely, I like that catherine wheel pattern. I need to branch out with my crochet patterns I think, I tend to stick to the same things. Your blanket is looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteps My Mum absolutely loves your blog - she is always on here looking for inspiration and ideas. :-) x
Wonderful colors and beautiful work, I will be back!
ReplyDeleteHi there. I absolutely love your blog. It is so inspirational.
ReplyDeletewhat are the colours you used for the blanket above with the grey borders? I would love to use the same for my next project. Thanks, Olivia
