Friday again! How did that happen? This week's been a bit of a blur to be honest. The bed I spoke of at the end of my last post has finally been assembled in the spare room. I call it the spare room but really it's the place where clothes live, half of which
don't fit I never wear (why do we do this ladies?), alongside all my yarn and crafty related bits and bobs.
Since the bed was put together, I've found myself being drawn to the space more. Not least because it's somewhere nice and comfy to loll around crocheting to my heart's content. There's no TV in there either , just a DAB radio for company. Any guests that stay in that room will have to put up with being surrounded by lots of colourful crochet makes and craft supplies. I know it's not for everyone, but I LOVE IT and that's all that matters really.
I've spent some of the week finishing off hooking a crochet cover for my Kindle. I used a soft bobble stitch pattern taken from Erika Knight's book crochet workshop. I made my Sister a scarf using the same, and I thought it might lend itself nicely to this type of quick and easy project. I just improvised the design, and am fairly pleased with the outcome.
It's my usual mix of trial and error, and make it up as I go along. If it works it's a bonus! I was going to order a hard cover for it, but thought it might be nice to give it a woolly handmade jacket to live in. Besides I was dying to use some of my new yarn, and what better excuse.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. Andy Murray has made it to the Australian Open Tennis final so I will be up early on Sunday to cheer him on.
I hope you have a lovely one whatever your plans are...xxx
